So, I’m taking a blogging class

Writing

This summer, my friend and colleague, Jocelyn, and I signed up for a blogging class offered through OU. As instructors at the university, the class is free to us, and we get to use free iPad Airs and bluetooth keyboards for the rest of the semester. Really, it’s a deal I couldn’t pass up.

For those who are familiar with my blog from other blogging classes, I know what you’re thinking. “Gee, Marisa, for a person who blogs as seldom as you do, you sure do take a lot of blogging classes.”

Yes, yes I do.

But I would like the record to state that every blogging class I’ve taken has had a different focus. From fostering community, to getting page views, to learning how to be a blogger in academia, each class has taught me things that I hope to someday put together to create a class. But that’s a talk for another day.

For now, just know that I will be posting the required writings for class in this space.

Thanks for sharing!

  1. This is my first blogging class. I don’t mind the ipad Air. It’s just the technical details that I have to navigate.

    • I think the biggest learning curve will be using the WordPress App instead of the site, but so far it looks like we’re all doing fairly well!

      • Learning the pros and cons of using the WordPress App is one of my favorite byproducts of this course. The best part is that whatever you learn about the WordPress App on iPad, translates pretty well to Android and iPhone. Blog from EVERY screen! 🙂
